Supervision and support of private welfare guardians

Applications for welfare guardianship powers are now more common than applications from local authorities.  This report presents key findings from our monitoring private guardians in Scotland.

Our findings are based on interviews with guardians and social workers and review of guardianship paperwork.

In this report we make key recommendations to ensure that people on guardianship have their rights safeguarded and that private guardians are given the information and support they need to do their job.
