Our annual monitoring report 2008-09
This report gives an independent overview of the operation of the use of legislation to provide care and treatment for people with mental disorders. We have focused on our duties to monitor the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
Our key concerns this year
- The increasing use of welfare guardianship orders for young people under the age of 25
- Emerging differences in the use of mental health law for men and women
- Continued admission fo young people under the age of 18 to non-specialist services
